Phillies among league leaders in swinging at, missing baseball

You could pin this on a few primary culprits: Ryan Howard and Marlon Byrd were the top two strike out victims in all of baseball (190 and 185 for the year). But what's fun to do is break down these horrific offensive stats into horrific little sub-categories, as the folks at Beyond the Box Score have done for us.

Ah, thank you.

This goes beyond Howard and Byrd, as we can take into account frantic swings and misses at the top of the lineup as well, that perhaps did not lead to strikeouts necessarily. Ben Revere and Jimmy Rollins come to mind. Here's a fun one from 2013 featuring Matt Harvey and a 100 m.p.h. heater.
