Happy Friday. Here's your daily look at five stories to know about before the weekend:

1. Lynn conviction reversed: The Pennsylvania Superior Court overturned Msgr. William Lynn's conviction on child-endangerment charges for his handling of priest sex-abuse complaints, a ruling that prosecutors say they will appeal and has elated the church official's supporters but left victim advocates disheartened.

2. Unemployment benefit cuts: Starting Saturday, people seeking work nationwide will lose emergency unemployment benefits. Those who qualify for unemployment will now receive 26 weeks of benefits -- a sharp drop from the current 63 weeks previously available to laid off workers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The extra weeks of federal benefits were put in place during the recession in 2008.

3. Big game for Eagles: The Eagles face off against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday for their regular-season finale, and the primetime showdown will determine the NFC East title.

4. Chesco judge stays free: Rita Arnold, a former district judge in Chester County, won't have to post $1 million bail or report to prison today, after a state Superior Court judge halted a hike in her bail amount. The ruling means Arnold, who pleaded guilty to concealing a citation against her son, can continue to receive chemotherapy treatments before serving her 16 to 32 month sentence.

5. Newtown police file: Thousands of pages of police documents from the investigation into the Newtown school massacre are set to be released today.
