#PhillyFive Developing Stories: Dec. 22, 2014

Your early look at five of the day's developing stories.

Here's your look at five stories we're following today:

1. Shane Montgomery search: Keys belonging to Shane Montgomery -- the college student who vanished on Thanksgiving -- surfaced along the Schuylkill River this weekend. The Roxborough native remains missing nearly a month later.

2. Police-community relations: Tensions between police officers and their communities became further strained over the weekend, after the slayings of two cops in New York City. Officers in New Jersey were being warned of heightened hostility toward law-enforcement officers, while demonstrators in Philadelphia on Sunday night protested police brutality and grand juries' decisions not to issue indictments in the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases.

3. Northeast man's disappearance: Police are investigating the suspicious disappearance of Northeast Philadelphia resident Vito Maglio. The 69-year-old has been missing for a week, while his car has been found torched.

4. Case against Fattah: Experts say building a legal case against U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah in a probe into his use of federal earmarks may be more difficult than many political observers think.

5. Souderton vigil: The Souderton Area School District is holding a vigil tonight for the victims of last week's shooting rampage in Montgomery County.
