Scott Boras talks Domonic Brown

Domonic Brown's name can't stay out of trade rumors. What's his agent think about that?

As the roster stands two months away from the start of spring training, the Phillies have a projected everyday lineup that includes just three players under age 30: Domonic Brown, Ben Revere and Cody Asche.

Only one of those three players played in an All-Star Game last year. Only one of those players won Player Of the Month honors last year.

That played, of course, is Brown.

Despite the fact that he's one of the few young, productive, controllable players on the Phillies roster, Brown's name more than occasionally pops up in trade rumors.

The Phillies, however, say they're not trying to trade Brown. Brown isn't arbitration eligible for the first time until next winter, and he cannot become a free agent until after the 2017 season.

So what's his agent think about the trade talk. His agent is none other than Scott Boras.

Here was Boras's take on the Brown trade talk:

"When you have breakout young players that teams have control over long term, I think it's pretty customary teams are gonna to be interested in them," Boras said Wednesday afternoon at Walt Disney World's Swan and Dolphin Resort. "Anybody with 20-plus home run power these days - there are like 40 players in the league. That's a little more than one a team. If you hit 27 home runs like Domonic did, clubs are going to pay attention and try to acquire those assets."
