Former Maryland point guard Melo Trimble to work out for Sixers
He could be a second-round option for the Sixers in the draft.
Former Maryland standout Melo Trimble told Washington Wizards beat writers Tuesday that he'll work out for the 76ers.
The Sixers confirmed that the point guard will work out Monday. NBA teams will be on the West Coast this week for agent-run, predraft workouts.
Trimble could be a second-round option for the Sixers in the NBA draft June 22. The Sixers have four second-round picks — Nos. 36, 39, 46 and 50 — in addition to the third overall pick in the draft.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard declared for the draft March 29 after his junior season. He averaged 15.9 points, 3.9 assists, and 3.7 rebounds during his three seasons at Maryland, making 34.3 percent of his three-pointers.
Trimble worked out for the Wizards on Tuesday. He'll work out for the Houston Rockets after his Sixers workout.
