Runner proposes to girlfriend at Broad Street Run finish line

Kaitlyn Foley got more than a medal at the finish line of the 35th annual Broad Street Run this Sunday!

Foley and boyfriend James Bowman lined up at the start of the race together — but it was more than just friendly competition that pushed Bowman to beat his girlfriend to the finish line. Shortly after completing the race, Bowman made the day even more memorable by staging a proposal.

Bowman waited for his girlfriend behind a sign that read, "Will you marry me, Kaitlyn? Love, James." Once Foley crossed the finish, Bowman got down on one knee and proposed in front of Foley's parents and a sea of fellow runners.

"The hardest part was keeping it a secret," said Bowman. "I knew she wanted a different kind of proposal but I just hoped that she hadn't caught on!"

By the look on Foley's face in the video above, it's safe to say Bowman's surprise shocked her. And of course, she said yes!
