ESPN presents its World Cup broadcast plan

NEW YORK - ESPN has summoned the soccer media to Manhattan today for a press conference detailing its plans for broadcasting next month's World Cup.

It's no secret that the network intends to pull out all the stops for its presentation of everything in Brazil. We already know some elements of what we'll see, including the broadcast schedule. Now we're going to hear from some top ESPN executives about more details of what we'll see.

Among the expected speakers:

- John Skipper, president of the ESPN empire
- Russell Wolff, executive vice president of ESPN International
- Jed Drake, senior vice president and executive producer
- Amy Rosenfeld, coordinating producer for all things soccer
- Scott Guglielmino, senior vice president for programming

The event will be hosted by veteran ESPN soccer voice Bob Ley. I suspect plenty of other on-air personalities will be on hand as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if important figures from Major League Soccer and the U.S. Soccer Federation are in attendance.

I'll have a full story on the day posted here later. Until then, I'll be posting details from the event on Twitter. Follow along below for the latest commentary.
