Flavor up your week with these 5 food events: Bar crawl, brunch, wine

It’s a great food week in Philadelphia. For one thing, Philadelphia Wine Week is upon us. Aside from the fermented grape events, this week includes new brunch offerings from Palladino’s and Top of the Tower, as well as a bar crawl in Fairmount.

For those who love farm-to-table, Wednesday, March 25, Wyebrook Farm (150 Wyebrook Rd.) in Honeybrook will debut restaurant offerings at 11 a.m. from farmer Dean Carlson and newly appointed chef, Andrew Wood of Russet Restaurant (1521 Spruce St.). On Thursday, March 26 join Yards' Tom Kehoe and the Philly Beer Week Crew for the inaugural #HOGTour. Although PBW 2015 doesn't officially start until Friday, May 29 there's no harm in starting things a wee bit early. The pub crawl will begin at London Grill (2301 Fairmount Ave.), and make its way to Urban Saloon (2120 Fairmount Ave.), The Belgian Café (2047 Green St.), and the Kite and Key (1836 Callowhill St.). All the fun starts at 6 p.m. and of course, the beloved Hammer of Glory will be in attendance.

Travel up 51 floors for an incredible view of the city, and an awesome brunch debuting at the Top of the Tower on Sunday, March 29. SkyBrunch will run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offer a buffet menu featuring seven stations with options including: Yogurt parfaits, omelets made to order, pepper-cured prime rib, fried chicken and waffles, oyster shooters, pickled vegetables, and dessert. The brunch is $50 for adults, $25 for kids and will run every Sunday.

Townsend restaurant (1623 E Passyunk Ave.) will host a special five-course wine pairing dinner and a conversation with writer and wine advocate, Alice Feiring. The night will revolve around natural wines as well as talks, from wine experts Lauren Harris, Mariel Wega, Chloe GriGri, and Megan Storm. The dinner is $135 per person and includes choices from Chef Tod Wentz. The event starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 26.

Taste new selections at Palladino's (1934 E Passyunk Ave.) during a boozy brunch debuting on Sunday, March 29. From 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., enjoy menu highlights such as: WTF (What the Foie?) waffle, Nutella buttermilk waffles, Italian eggs Benedict, and $5 boozy cocktails such as bloody Mary's and Bellini's. Each guest will receive a complimentary pastry basket. This special will run every Sunday after the 29th.
