Flavor up your week with these 5 food events: Wine, brews, feast

Here are 5 food events to keep on your radar:

On Tuesday, Dec. 1 and Thursday, Dec. 3, taste the flavors of the holiday season during a wine pairing at the Christmas Village in LOVE Park. Tuesday will feature three wines with select cheeses, and Thursday will feature wines paired with select chocolates. Admission includes a take-home gift and each night runs from 4 to 7 p.m. 

Peter Woolsey's La Peg Restaurant (140 N. Columbus Blvd.) teams up with Saint Benjamin Brewing on Wednesday, Dec. 2 for a beer dinner at 6 p.m. The meal will feature four signature courses alongside Saint Benjamin Brews such as Foul Weather Jack English mild ale, Saison du Jour V, Inca India cream ale and Junto Koffee Kolsch. Discover why Americans are attracted and favor alcohol on Friday, Dec. 4 during Cliveden's (6401 Germantown Ave.) Kitchen Conversations series entitled "The Cup That Cheers: Drinking in the 18th Century." Led by Dr. Gretchen Sorin, things will get started at 7 p.m. and cover 18th century drinking themes as well as samples from wines made during those years. 

If you're in need of a beer and a bite but have the kids around, on Saturday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 6 Frankford Hall (1210 Frankford Ave.) is a win-win for both of you. From 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the beer hall will host seasonal cheer featuring a visit from Santa and free hot cocoa and goodie bags from kids. While that happens, grab a brew and a warm Bavarian pretzel.

For a hearty meal: On Sunday, Dec. 6, Chef Joe Cicala will host his annual La Panarda feast, an all-day food event featuring 40 courses alongside Abruzzese wines.
