Whether you're into cook-off competitions with endless amounts of chicken and beer, or ice cream paired with Italian gastropub food, this week is full of goodies for foodies.

On Saturday, March 21 the Philadelphia Firefighters and Paramedics Union (415 N 5th St Philadelphia) will be full of flavorful chicken and booze for the first annual Philly Beard Corp's March Wing Madness. General admission is $35 and VIP is $50. Doors open at 5 p.m. and proceeds from the event will go towards the family of Philadelphia police officer, Robert Wilson.

The Second Annual Bucks Bacon and Beer will fill the floors of Triumph Brewing Company (400 Union Square, New Hope, PA) on Sunday, March 22 for a celebration of all things pig. Beginning at 12 p.m. guests can taste unlimited samples of pork, ice cream, jams, and more. Some vendors for the afternoon include: Black Market Bacon, The Bacon Jams, Old World Sausage Factory, and Haring Brothers. Tickets are $35 and general admission the event begins at 2 p.m.

Kick off with wine this week on Sunday, March 22 during Opening Corks. Starting at 5 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (118-128 North Broad Street) guests can enjoy a tasting of premium and sparkling white wines, as well as select rosés. Complimentary hors d' oeuvres from Alla Spina, Jet Wine Bar, Tria Café, and more will be offered throughout the evening. Tickets are $75 per person.

Sunday, March 22, DiBruno Brothers (834 Chestnut St.) will host the first competition of their new series: The Monger Games. Starting at 6:30 p.m., teams paired up with the DiBruno Bros. cheesemongers of all experience levels will go head-to-head in a pairing contest for the grand prize of a Golden Cow Bell. Entry to taste the pairings cost $10 and the theme for the contest "Beer Foundue" will feature local brewers from Yards, Victory and Iron Hill.

New York ice cream company Big Gay Ice Cream (soon to have its first location in Philly) brings its flavors to Alla Spina (1410 Mt Vernon St.) for Big Gay Night on Sunday, March 22. The event is pay-as-you-go and features a savory menu from the Italian gastropub, a sweet menu from the creamery, and beers from Victory. Some menu options for the night include: Lemon and parmesan wings, falafel burger, maple-biscoff milkshake, and a rocky roadhouse sundae. The menu starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by a burlesque and drag show by Bambi Galore at 9 p.m.
