CNN airs split-screen interview with two reporters in the same parking lot

Oof. CNN is having a rough go of it.

Oof. CNN is having a rough go of it. First, John King reported that authorities had arrested the Boston Marathon bomber nearly two days before the Watertown shootout and subsequent manhunt. Then, President Obama and Conan O'Brien used the news network as a speedbag during the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Meanwhile, Jon Stewart has been earning a living doing such work for what feels like a lifetime, including Monday's episode with Christiane Amanpour.

Now, The Atlantic Wire has an in-depth piece detailing a segment that aired on CNN on Tuesday. The segment features a split screen interview between Nancy Grace and Ashleigh Banfield even though they're IN THE SAME PARKING LOT.

It seems that Grace and Banfield are sitting in the same parking lot, facing in the same direction, and judging by the speed of the vehicles in their shots, they cannot be sitting more than 30 feet away from each other. Yet, they're behaving as if the are on opposite sides of the world. Here's an artist's representation of the warp in space time punditry.

Check out the full piece over at The Atlantic Wire, complete with GIFs galore and a description of what happens later in Banfield's segment when additional reporters at the same location join in on the broadcast. [The Atlantic Wire]
