Councilman Jim Kenney begs Sriracha company to move to Philly

In case you guys hadn't noticed, Sriracha has been in the news a lot lately as everyone the world over began to panic and/or turn to stone after staring a possible Sriracha shortage in the face. Luckily, the crisis was averted.

In case you guys hadn't noticed, Sriracha has been in the news a lot lately as everyone the world over began to panic and/or turn to stone after staring a possible Sriracha shortage in the face. Luckily, the crisis was averted.

But, while you were lining the shelves of your doomsday bunker with pallets worth of the stuff, Philadelphia City Councilman Jim Kenney was busy drafting a letter to the Sriracha folks in an attempt to seem really hip and trendy get them to move to their headquarters to Philadelphia.

His message to Huy Fong Foods CEO/Sriracha Overlord David Tran is more of a listicle than it is a letter. Kenney plays up Philly's Vietnamese-American population and our infatuation with underdogs as he tries to seem really hip and trendy convince Tran that the grass is greener in Philadelphia.
