Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell are basically the same person

Philadelphia native comedian Kevin Hart and his new “Get Hard” co-star Will Ferrell have been promoting their upcoming film in creative ways.

Philadelphia native comedian Kevin Hart and his new “Get Hard” co-star Will Ferrell have been promoting their upcoming film in creative ways.

From sideline support at a celebrity tennis match to a mock Q&A the pair appear inseparable but their new movie might not be the only reason for this. As Hart and Ferrell revealed in a new "Funny Or Die" sketch, their paths never crossed in movies before "Get Hard" because the comedians always auditioned for the same roles.

Will Ferrell's hilariously incompetent Ron Burgundy character was almost played by the foot shorter, shades darker Hart. Will Ferrell even shirked conventionalities and auditioned for Kevin Hart's role in "Real Husbands of Hollywood," whose name was Kevin Hart. Ferrell's standup routine, though, was identical to Hart's "Laugh At My Pain," and that's where Hart drew the line.

Check out the skit above to see exactly why, despite his height, Hart wasn't quite the right fit for "Elf."
