Street artist Kid Hazo turns PAFA paint sculpture into giant poop emoji

If you’ve ever passed by Claes Oldenburg’s 51-foot “Paint Torch” installation at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, you’ve probably noticed that its massive orange paint dollop looks suspiciously like the poop emoji we all know and love.

If you've ever passed by Claes Oldenburg's 51-foot "Paint Torch" installation at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, you've probably noticed that its massive orange paint dollop looks suspiciously like the poop emoji we all know and love.

If you you haven't, though, no worries: Philly street artist Kid Hazo illustrated the similarities for us this morning with his newest installation. And all it took was some foam board and double-sided tape.

Conrad Brenner at Streets Dept. captured Hazo in the act this morning, indicating in a post that the poop emoji conversion went up around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Named for the smiling poop emoji that Hazo's installation re-creates, the piece has a "limited run until a security guard or passerby decides to take it down."

Until then, though, it will remain the best Philly-based April Fools' prank of the day. Even if it is kind of crappy.
