With baseball season fast approaching, stadiums and teams alike are readying themselves for the coming rush of fans once April hits. And while the Phillies are doing that with spring training, the minor league Wilmington Blue Rocks are taking a different approach. Behold, the doughnut hot dog:

An as-yet-nameless creation, the bacon doughnut hot dog will be served this season at Wilmington's Frawley Stadium, home of the Blue Rocks. As you may be able to see, it essentially amounts to a glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut wrapped gingerly around a hot dog that has been completely covered in crumbled bacon and raspberry jam.

Being as they haven't named it yet, the Blue Rocks are asking for your help. If you've got something that can rival the already submitted "Kremey Weenie," "Suicide Mission," or "Rocky's Sweet Meat," then head over to the Blue Rocks Facebook page or official site to make your suggestion.

Nominations must be made by March 17, when six finalists will be chosen for a fan vote on social media. We will have our winner — and a name for this stadium food monstrosity — by March 25.

Perhaps, though, we ought not fret too much. At least one local, 93.7 WSTW's Spencer Graves, says these things are pretty good:

The Blue Rocks will have their first 2015 home game on Thursday, April 16, and the Krispy Kreme doughnut hot dog will come along with it. As a bonus, Dogfish Head will be sponsoring Frawley Stadium's "Beer:30 Thursday" promotion that day, so at least you'll be able to drink to forget what you've done to your body.
