Watch: Dover police officer can’t stop dancing to ‘Shake It Off’

At this point, there is little chance that the popularity of Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” will diminish anytime soon—doubly so for the parody lip-synch videos that have become standard for any mega-hit.

At this point, there is little chance that the popularity of Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" will diminish anytime soon—doubly so for the parody lip-synch videos that have become standard for any mega-hit.

Now, thanks to a YouTube video uploaded Friday by the Dover Police, we know that not even our boys in blue are resistant to the track's wily charms.

As you can see in the video above, Officer Jeff Davis is patrolling the streets of Dover, Del., beginning his lip-synching bashfully at first, as though he is not yet completely willing to "shake it off." Soon, though, he reaches the point where he just "can't stop, won't stop moving."

And while the officer should be commended on his lip-synching abilities—spot on, sir—there is an equally important element of the video that needs a shoutout as well: The dancing. Crisp, clean, and tidy, just like a pair of dress blues. Or the order this man no doubt brings to the streets of Dover.

Equally commendable, of course, is his transition back to normal patrol around 1:18 as he winds down singing and waves at another traveler. Ditto at 1:52 when he breaks the song again to signal someone to cross in front of him, and at 2:30 as a car passes. The transition from Swift and back is flawless.

Uploaded Friday as part of the Dover Police's "DashCam Confessional series," the video earned around 86,000 views in just 24 hours. Even Good Morning America took notice, featuring the clip on Saturday morning's show, according to a post via the Dover Police's Facebook:
