Christie grades Trump's first 100 days: 'I'd give him a B'

Gov. Christie gave President Trump a 'B' grade 100 days into his term at the White House, declaring Trump's staff needs to "get their act together" and "serve the president better."

"You've gotta put touchdowns in the end zone," Christie told CNN's Jake Tapper in an interview Monday night. "The president knows how to do that. He's got to make sure that we get everybody focused on the task at hand."

Christie, a friend and informal adviser of Trump's, praised the president's appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, saying that would "well survive his presidency."

The Republican governor and former presidential candidate also gave Trump good marks on rolling back Obama-era regulations.

But Christie faulted Trump's staff and Congress for the GOP's unsuccessful effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Christie had previously criticized the president's staff amid the chaos of Trump's first attempted travel ban.

"You rely upon your staff to be able to tee the ball up to make sure that when you swing, you hit the ball and you hit the ball far," Christie said. He added, "I know they're working hard."
