UPDATED: Delta to trim more capacity; Southwest says June traffic still weak; Continental seeks customers' help

Airline executives are appearing today at an investors conference in New York that is producingnews today. Airlines are warning that traffic remains weak, with June looking as bad as May was. Southwest was first up with a caution. 

Continental CEO Larry Kellner asked business travelers to help the airlines by travelng more. Details on that here.

In advance of the conference, Delta's two senior managers warned employees in a letter yesrerday that more capacity would be cut later this year. This AP story on Delta also has good background on all the problems weighing down air travel.

American CEO Gerard Arpey also was there: It plans more capacity cuts, too.

AirTran Airways officers told the conference the carrier expects to be profitable this year.
