DOT: No long airport delays in October

The Department of Transportation reported yesterday that airline on-time performance and service at PHL and elsewhere followed fairly normal patterns in October -- with one exception. There were no delays of three hours or more on airport tarmacs, and there was not an increase in airlines cancelling flights as a result of the tough penalties for long delays. At PHL, four out of five flights arrived within 15 minutes of schedule during the month, putting the airport in the middle of the pack, where it's been recently. All the statistics you can imagine can be found at www.dot.gov.
