More detail on baby born on Southwest flight

The story of a baby boy delivered on a Southwest Airlines flight on Friday has been all over the news -- naturally, since the media love an easy-to-do human-interest story -- but we decided not to post it earlier because of a lack of detail. We found a good retelling on ABC News, with information about the birth, attended by a physician and two nurses who were passengers, and flight attendants.

The ABC story, found here, also has good detail about airline recommendations about flying while pregnant. Turns out there are really no specific rules for most carriers. In this case, the woman who delivered was eight months pregnant, and obviously didn't expect to go into labor while in the air.
