UPDATE on cell phones on airline flights

I wanted to give you another update on the Monday Winging It column, in which I asked you what you thought of allowing cell phone calls on airline flights. There's no consideration we know of at the moment of relaxing the voice call ban on U.S. airlines, but the topic may be debated again now that Internet access will soon be available on several carriers.

The tally of e-mail messages and phone calls stands at 56 opposed, 2 in favor, of allowing calls in flight. Remember this is not a scientific survey using random sampling methods. But it certainly seems to reflect what those with firm opinions think. If you still want to express an opinion, add a comment here or e-mail me at tbelden@phillynews.com.
