Philly.com's lemonade challenge!

Help us raise money to save kids' lives.

We're restarting this blog for a very good cause:

Philly.com is working to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand, and we need your help!

As you no doubt noticed on the home page, we are trying to raise $10,000 today for Alex's Lemonade Stand.

We all know the story of Alex Scott - the young lady who started a national movement with her first lemonade stand, set up to raise money for her own doctors. But the thing that impresses me about the Alex's Lemonade Stand foundation today is how dedicated they continue to be to being nimble and pouring all their resources to where they matter most.

The foundation funds grants for targeted medical research, and - I particularly like this - for nurse researchers. They are devoted to putting money as close to patients as they can.

When you think about it, $10,000 is not an unreachable goal. If 1,000 of our users give $10, we've hit it.

So far, many of you have - both on our virtual stand (just click here) and at our physical stand in Love Park. (It's from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. That's Liz and Jay Scott at our stand in the picture.) But we need more!

Please take one moment and spend a little money to help this effort. With your help, we can help kids with cancer - today. Thank you!
