A scheduled commuter fare increase on the PATCO High Speed Line has been delayed four months, until January 2011.

A scheduled commuter fare increase on the PATCO High Speed Line has been delayed four months, until January 2011.

The Delaware River Port Authority board, which operates PATCO, voted unanimously today to postpone the 10 percent hike, citing tough economic times for workers commuting to their jobs.

Earlier this month, the board voted to postpone a $1 toll increase on its four Delaware River bridges until July 2011.

In other business, the board voted to use $20 million remaining in its economic development coffers for a variety of projects: $2 million for the South Jersey Food Bank, $9 million for unspecified development in downtown Camden and $9 million for various waterfront projects throughout South Jersey.
