Schroder to head health-care council

The legislator will resign May 6 to become a senior VP with the 58-member hospital and health-systems organization.

Pennsylvania State Rep. Curt Schroder (R., Chester) said he would resign his seat in Harrisburg May 6 to become a senior vice president and regional executive with the Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania's Delaware Valley Healthcare Council, which has 58 members in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Schroder will succeed Kenneth J. Braithwaite II, who left at the end of October.

The hospital association praised Schroder for his hospital-friendly legislative efforts, including his advocacy of last year's Fair Share Act, which, the association said, was "designed to cut down on frivolous lawsuits."
