Comcast opens Wifi network for storm

Comcast Corp. said Friday it opened its Wifi network to the public in Philadelphia region and the Northeast for the snow storm.

Comcast Corp. said Friday it opened its Wifi network to the public in Philadelphia region and the Northeast for the snow storm.

The Philadelphia company said it would keep the Wifi available for general public through Monday. Comcast operates thousands of Wifi hotspots in the in retail plazas, train platforms, parks and other areas of the northeastern U.S. affected by the storm.

Typically a person has to authenticate themself - use a logon and password - as an Xfinity subscriber to access the network.
