Antitrust suit against Comcast given class-action status

A federal judge has grated class-action status to a lawsuit brought by a group of cable subscribers accusing Comcast Corp. of antitrust violations.

A federal judge has grated class-action status to a lawsuit brought by a group of cable subscribers accusing Comcast Corp. of antitrust violations.

The suit, filed in U.S. District court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, claims that the Philadelphia cable company acquired subscribers from competitors to reduce competition.

The plaintiffs in the suit are six non-basic cable customers from the Philadelphia and Chicago areas.
