Herley Industries gets $1.2M Navy contract

Microwave technology firm Herley Industries Inc. has received a follow-on contract from the Navy to provide electronic components for a helicopter-borne radar system.

Microwave technology firm Herley Industries Inc. has received a follow-on contract from the Navy to provide electronic components for a helicopter-borne radar system.

The contract is for more than $1.2 million.

The Lancaster-based company, which designs microwave technology for clients in the defense, aerospace and medical industries around the world, said the frequency generators needed for the radar system are made at several of its sites in the United States and in Israel.

Herley, which has seven manufacturing locations and about 1,000 employees, posted a 2009 net loss of $41.2 million on revenues of $160.1, over a 2008 loss of $10.4 million on revenues of $136.1 million.    - Roslyn Rudolph
