Air Products & Chemicals Inc., Allentown, today said it won a contract from the U.S. Department of Energy to develop a carbon-capture project.

The $902,000 contract is for an engineering study and plan to capture, concentrate and purify carbon dioxide emitted from industrial operations for use in oil recovery.

The technology could eventually be used to capture carbon dioxide from Air Products' steam methane reformers at a refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, the company said.    - Reid Kanaley
