BioNanomatrix names new CEO
BioNanomatrix Inc., of Philadelphia, today named its board chairman, Edward L. Erickson, as the new president and chief executive officer of the start-up biomedical research company.
BioNanomatrix Inc., of Philadelphia, today named its board chairman, Edward L. Erickson, as the new president and chief executive officer of the start-up biomedical research company.
Erickson succeeds Michael Boyce-Jacino, who has stepped down as president and CEO, and from the board, the company said. Battelle Ventures general partner Tracy Warren succeeds Erickson as chairperson.
Warren said in a statement that Boyce-Jacino's "scientific expertise helped guide the company through its initial venture funding and early product development," and that Erickson is taking the reins as the firm moves toward marketing a system for DNA analysis.
Warren described Erickson as having "extensive experience in the development and commercialization of life science research products, diagnostic platforms and other medical products" as a former president, CEO or director of more than a dozen companies. - Reid Kanaley
