E-ZPass customers are being warned about an e-mail phishing scam that attempts to collect tolls. The electronic system's operators say the email is not an authorized communication and customers who receive it should not open it or respond to it.

The electronic system's operators say the email is not an authorized communication and customers who receive it should not open it or respond to it.

Subject: In arrears for driving on toll road
E-ZPass Service Center
Dear customer,
You have not paid for driving on a toll road. This invoice is sent repeatedly, please service your debt in the shortest possible time.

Again, E-ZPass customers should ignore the email and contact their issuing agency if they have any questions about their accounts.
