Woman, 20, dies after being hit by SEPTA train in Montco
The woman was hit by a Lansdale-Doylestown train on Tuesday, Hatfield Township Police said in a news release.
A young woman has died after she was struck by a SEPTA train in Montgomery County on Tuesday evening, according to authorities.
The 20-year-old was walking along the train tracks when she was hit by an eastbound Lansdale-Doylestown Regional Rail train between the Fortuna and Colmar rail stations around the 2100 block of North Broad Street, Hatfield Township Police said in a news release.
The SEPTA engineer stopped the train following the incident, according to police.
Officials said the unidentified woman was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital where she "succumbed to her injuries" Wednesday.
An investigation is ongoing, according to Hatfield police.
