Could this be Melania Trump's first official fashion fail?
Could the Mrs. be making her first official fashion misstep?

When I took a glimpse at this way-too-floral, on the verge of being disgustingly over-the-top jacket first lady Melania Trump undoubtedly chose to wow fellow spouses of G7 leaders at their fancy lunch, I thought to myself, "Yikes."
Could the Mrs. be making her first official fashion misstep?
Certainly the overly appliqued jacket — and the matching clutch — is a dicey choice. One that a fashion novice shouldn't even attempt to wear. But in Catania, Italy, on Friday, the first lady managed to pull it off as she paired this — drumroll please — $51,000 Dolce & Gabbana jacket with one of her signature white sheaths.
(For the record, $51,000 will get you a fully loaded Mercedes Benz.)
And, well, the look worked for her.
Not only was the entire look pretty in a Magic Garden kind of way. It proves that Trump — who on Wednesday surprised us with her protocol-appropriate piety in black lace veil and modest Dolce & Gabbana dress to visit Pope Francis — isn't afraid of texture and prints and serious dollops of blooming color.
But please, y'all, don't try this at home.
