Meek Mill celebrates birthday in Vegas with Diddy, Rick Ross

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Philly rapper Meek Mill, who turned 26 yesterday. Mill jet-setted out to Vegas, where he celebrated on Sunday night. Lucky for you, one of my spies filled me in on the action.

Mill hit up the Hard Rock Hotel's Rehab pool party, hosted by Philly's own DJ Drama. A-listers abounded, including Diddy, Kelly Rowland, boxer Adrien Broner and rapper Fabolous. Even though Mill stepped to Vegas to celebrate his birth, he brought out the Philly stars in full force, including the Cleveland Cavaliers' Dion Waiters, boxing champ Danny "Swift" Garcia (who is coming off a win against Zab Judah at the Barclays Center), middleweight Gabriel Rosado (who was part of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Robert Guerrero undercard at the MGM Grand this weekend) and former boxer/current fashion designer Simon "OnePunch" Carr.

The party then retreated to an intimate house party at the Palms Hotel hosted by Mill's Maybach Music Group buddy Rick Ross, who lavished his protege with expensive gifts.

* Mill and crew weren't the only Philadelphians celebrating the aging process in Vegas this weekend. DeSean Jackson posted a photo to Instagram hanging with Chris Brown (who turned 24 on Sunday), playing NBA 2K13 and posing for pics at the 1 Oak Nightclub.

Last year, Jackson lost $10,000 to Mill in a rap battle between their buds Retro (Jackson's entrant) and Lil Snupe (Mill's man), judged by Michael Vick and T.I., among others.

Recently, the Internet was abuzz with rumors, later shot down, that NBC would film another season of "Friends." Marta Kauffman, the Broomall-raised co-creator of the Thursday-night juggernaut, hadn't heard the rumors until she went to get a drink before the premiere of her Lifetime original movie "Call Me Crazy." A group of twenty-somethings sat near her table, unaware that they were in the presence of the creator.

" 'Didja see it? NBC confirmed it! They're doing a whole new season of 'Friends!' " Kauffman remembered the twenty-somethings saying. Kauffman sat there and said nothing. She let them have this one, even if she knew it would never happen. Not just because NBC would barely be able to afford the catering for a new season of "Friends," but because the show's time is over.

"Friends" was about a time in people's lives when they constructed their own families, but once they started having families of their own, it would be a different show, Kauffman told me. "It would be disappointing for anybody to see them now," Kauffman said. "It's better to keep them happy in our memories."

Kauffman's next project is nowhere near "Friends." She's the producer of "Hava Nagila," a documentary about the beloved Jewish dance, opening Friday at the Ritz at the Bourse. "That's the song you get up from the dinner table to be with the rest of the family," Kauffman said. "It would pull us away from our rubber chicken."

Ironically, Kauffman is not a fan of the dance. Traditionally, the Hava Nagila features friends hoisting a seated celebrant up in the air, but Kauffman is afraid of heights.

"My daughter just became a bat mitzvah. Someone picked my husband up and my other two kids, and I was hiding," Kauffman said. But to her, and as she hopes the documentary shows, it's more than just a dance.

"It's a history of the American Jew," Kauffman said.
