Hill named new head at Agnes Irwin School

ROSEMONT The provost of Lafayette College has been named the next head of the Agnes Irwin School, a girls' college prep academy in Rosemont. Wendy Hill will replace Mary F. Seppala on July 1, 2014.

A tenured professor of psychology and neuroscience, Hill was selected as the Pennsylvania professor of the year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education in 1999.

At Lafayette, she is credited with creating programs to attract and support faculty, and advocating interdisciplinary approaches to teaching.

Before going to Lafayette in 1989, Hill taught psychology at Rutgers University. She received a bachelor's degree from Douglass College at Rutgers, and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington's Animal Behavior Program with a minor focus in zoology/ecology. - Kathy Boccella
