Villanova displays painting that honors young victims at Sandy Hook shooting
RADNOR TOWNSHIP It took artist Chuck Connelly nearly a year to complete the 10-by-12 foot painting "Children of Sandy Hook" in remembrance of the young victims of the shooting at the elementary school in Connecticut.

The painting - a series of 20 portraits - will be on display at Villanova University's Connelly Center through Monday. An artist's reception will be held on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the gallery.
Connelly's work can be seen at many major museums, including the Metropolitian Museum of Art in New York. He was the subject of a HBO documentary, "The Art of Failure: Chuck Connelly Not for Sale." Connelly was born in Pittsburgh and attended the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.
On Dec. 14, 2012, Adam Lanza killed 20 children and six teachers at the Newtown (Conn.) elementary school before committing suicide. It was the county's second deadliest school shooting after the 2007 Virginia Tech killings.
