Christiane Amanpour to leave ABC show?

Journalist Christiane Amanpour is reportedly leaving her high-profile post as host of ABC’s This Week.

Wily and wise TV journalist Christiane Amanpour ( listen; Persian: کریستین امان‌پور), who has been a sort of pin-up girl for the New York Review of Books set, is leaving her much-ballyhooed spot on ABC's Sunday morning show, This Week with Christiane Amanpour, the New York Times reports, citing two anonymous sources "with knowledge of her plans."

Amanpour, 53, who was born in London to a British dad and an Iranian mother, made waves in April 2010, when she left CNN after 27 years to take over the ABC show from George Stephanopoulos who had migrated to Good Morning America.

Guess Amanpour, who was chief international correspondent at CNN and hosted her own show, Amanpour, wasn't happy at ABC either. Rumors of her impending departure made the rounds all week, with The New York Post reporting that ABC suits already were discussing who might replace the veteran reporter.

ABC has refused to comment.
