Falling in love was the last thing we expected when my dining partner and I tried a new soup at the Plough and the Stars. Yet there we were, after just a few sips, agreeing that this Spinach and Mushroom Soup was one of the best flavor combinations and most satisfying soups we've tasted in years.
Earthy yet light, the recipe comes from sous chef Ben Johnson's Jewish-Irish grandmother, whom we now love. (The recipe, the main ingredients for which are currently available fresh at many area farm markets, appears on F4.)
