CasiNotes: Resorts offers Boogie Nights to reunion groups

RESORTS ATLANTIC City continues to find new ways to exploit its ultra-successful Boogie Nights disco, which pays homage to the pop culture of the 1970s and '80s.

RESORTS ATLANTIC City continues to find new ways to exploit its ultra-successful Boogie Nights disco, which pays homage to the pop culture of the 1970s and '80s.

The danceteria is now available for high school and college reunions for classes from the era when polyester ruled and MTV actually programmed music.

"If you graduated high school or college in the '70s or '80s, Boogie Nights would be the ideal venue for your class reunion because the theme, decor and music are already built in," said Kathleen McSweeney, Resorts' senior vice president of marketing.

"All the signature features that make Boogie Nights a great party every weekend will be available for these reunions and private events. Partygoers will instantly be brought back in time, reminding them of all the fun they had back in high school or college."

McSweeny added that party planners will also be able to generate additional buzz for their events on our social media network (www.myresorts

casino.com). "As part of their package, we will create a designated forum at which attendees can RSVP for the party, see others that are planning to attend, and chat with one another about the upcoming event."

Get carded

A new front is being opened in Atlantic City's casino marketing wars.

For three decades, the battles have raged for the hearts and minds (and bankrolls) of gamblers. Comps, special-event invitations and the like were reserved for those who came to AyCee to court Lady Luck. But with gaming revenue declining, non-wagering customers - specifically the younger, hipper crowd - are being targeted by the local industry leader.

Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa has introduced the "Nightlife Rewards" program for those who avail themselves of such hot spots as mixx, mur.mur and B Bar.

Using the existing Borgata players' cards, patrons of those and other nightlife outlets can accrue credits by having their cards swiped whenever they buy a drink. The resulting points can be used for free refreshments as well as access to private events like the recent meet-and-greet the Big B staged with pop star Katy Perry.

Hotel officials expect they will be able to more efficiently track the wants, needs and desires of their nightclubbing customers, and thereby better serve that increasingly crucial market segment.

Borgata cards are available at the card services desk. Visitors can also enroll via wireless devices carried by Borgata Babes, the casino's cocktail servers.

Needless to say, you must be 21 to participate.

Trop courts

the 'IN' crowd

Speaking of players' cards, Tropicana Casino and Resort today introduces the IN Card. While it is primarily aimed at gamblers, the rewards emphasis will be on the entertainment and lifestyle outlets that comprise The Quarter, the Trop's Havana-in-the-'50s-themed retail, dining and entertainment complex.

As part of the rollout, reality show avatar Brody Jenner ("The Hills," "Bromance") will be in the house tonight. He'll be chillin' at the Providence nightclub, where he'll be toasting his 26th birthday.

The festivities begin at 11, but you'll need to flash an IN card to be part of the fun.

Mop Top milestone

Sunday is the 45th anniversary of the Beatles' performance at Atlantic City's Convention Hall (now Boardwalk Hall). To mark the auspicious occasion, Yesterday, Tropicana's in-house Beatles tribute act, will replicate the set list from that night's gig.

Show time is 8:30 p.m. Admission is $25. For tickets, call 800-736-1420, or go to www.ticketmaster.com.

Tomlin tix

One of the more intriguing names on the fall entertainment roster is that of comic-actress Lily Tomlin, who hasn't toured for many years. She'll make her Atlantic City debut at 9 p.m. on Oct. 24 at Borgata's Music Box.

Tickets ($65 and $50) go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. You can get 'em by calling 866-900-4849, or at www.theborgata.com.
