Both men find themselves in hairy situations, but the scariest thing in the movie is the acting - Del Toro's miserable, mumbling hero and Hopkins' homicidal aristocrat, Hannibal Lecter with Rogaine. Also scary, the DVD special features include "extended" scenes, offering more of same.
On a brighter note, Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" arrives. Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter turns out to be a bit of a disappointment, but Helena Bonham Carter is great fun as the Red Queen. Special features include a documentary about the casting process, the special effects, and Depp's characterization.
There are also about a zillion Clint Eastwood movies being re-issued this week, in a dozen different combinations and arrays. Tax problems?
