Freddie Mitchell coached about love on ‘Millionaire Matchmaker’

Ex-Eagles receiver Freddie Mitchell, who some say bad-mouthed his way off the team, got coached up about dating last night on Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker.

Ex-Eagles receiver Freddie Mitchell, who some say bad-mouthed his way off the team, got coached up about dating last night on Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker.

The show's crude and rude - with expressions unquotable in family publications - but made Mitchell out to be a gentlemanly dude.

The Mistress of Matchmaking, Patti Stanger, portrayed Fred Ex as a naive victim of golddiggers. You don't give a woman cash or credit cards before you're married, and jewelry, that's for a specific kind of sexual favor, she opined.

Mitchell needed to grow some, uh, male parts that she itemized.

Stanger's like Cupid's bigger sister, a cross between Monica Lewinski and Judge Judy.

Mitchell said he was a venture capitalist these days, after making $5 million during his five years in the NFL.

"This guy's a good dude. He just picks the wrong women," Stanger said.

He was looking for a white or Latino woman, maybe like, oh, Olivia Wilde. (She's the House actress who topped Maxim's Hot 100 list in 2009.)

Stanger coached him up about talking to women, drawing them out, so he sees more than looks, senses if they can be trusted. "Where do you see yourself in five years?" he asked several at a mixer.

"In the arms of an amazing man!" said Gia, author of bereavement books for children.

She didn't make his final two - a raven-haired stuntwoman named Maria and a blond gemologist named Adrienne.

"Freddie brought his A game," Stanger said.

Maria joked she could give Mitchell cortisone shots ("Right here, stick me, baby!" he said) and do ju jitsu moves with him ("Can you put me in a Kimura so I know what's going on?" he said). She declined, blushing.

Mitchell picked the long-haired blonde, who just happened to be an ex-cheerleader.

Things were going well, with Adrienne squealing repeatedly during a helicopter ride over Manhattan. "We're having a better time than you are," she exclaimed, seeing people on a rooftop.

But back in the limo, she spoiled the mood by saying she Googled him, and noticed reports about his 2009 arrest for nonpayment of child support.

"It was a pretty sad moment for me," he said. "She put me in the courtroom, when I'm trying to have a good time."

On a first date, that was rude, he said. She should have saved it for later, if things got more serious.

Stanger later agreed.

Not that Mitchell turned a cold shoulder. At dinner, he boasted he knew about cheerleading moves and could put Adrienne in "a chair." Suddenly, he's lifting her till she's sitting on his hand.

"I think every guy should learn to do a chair," he said, elaborating on hand positions.

"I was a perfect gentleman," Mitchell said after the date.

"I am feeling fabulous about Freddie's progress this week!" Stanger said.

Mitchell decided not to go out again with Adrienne, and his part of the show closed with "He's looking forward to his date with Maria" written on the screen.

The episode, "Fred Ex Delivers," is scheduled to be rebroadcast on Bravo at midnight; 3 a.m. Thursday and Friday; and 10 a.m. Thursday and Saturday.

Stanger's also on Twitter, giving such advice as "Keep your wits - you need them! Stay clear and focused. Face it, being drunk and slurring your words just isn't attractive."
