Film New This Week: This Is the End (*** out of four stars) James Franco is throwing a housewarming, and Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, and a swarm of real-life celebs are partying hearty when something like the apocalypse rains down on them. A devilishly demented, psychoactive screwball comedy in which dozens of coddled celebs meet their maker. R (profanity, nudity, sex, violence, adult themes)

Music

Delbert McClinton and Glen Clark. The way Delbert McClinton figures it, he's at the point where he can do whatever he wants when it comes to his music. And what the 72-year-old godfather of Americana wanted to do was make another album with his fellow Texas native and longtime friend, Glen Clark. As Delbert & Glen, the duo put out two terrific records in the early '70s that presaged the blend of R&B, rock, soul, and country that has defined McClinton's still-vibrant career.

Delbert & Glen regrouped last year and came up with the loose, lively, and utterly fantastic Blind, Crippled and Crazy. The two cowrote five of the album's 12 songs. And according to McClinton, they just picked up where they left off 40 years ago. - Nick Cristiano
