Ocean City Flower Show

The Music Pier greens up for the 45th annual exhibition of amateur and commercial horticulture and arrangements. This year's theme: sports in bloom. Among the 20 coveted awards - for orchids and theme and artistry and more - are some for the work of kids who have spent Thursday evening furiously arranging at the pier.

2-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk, Ocean City. Free, ocnj.us.

West Cape May Strawberry Festival

We all know the Jersey tomato. And blueberry. And corn. But strawberry? Yup. The harbinger of West Cape May Farmers' Markets to come (they start June 27, and continue on Tuesdays through the season), this springtime tradition celebrates the short-lived, heart-shaped fruit. The full day of family fun includes produce vendors, shortcake sellers, vintage kitchenware collectors, and Strawberry King and Queen crowners.

9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday (rain date: Sunday), Wilbraham Park, Perry Street, West Cape May. Free, westcapemaytoday.com.

Atlantic City Food Truck Festival & Competition

Like Night Market and the Vendys combined, A.C.'s second annual gathering of food trucks offers casual fare and competition in Brighton Park. Vendors include multi-award-winning Bonjour Crêperie, South Philly's own Nick's Roast Beef, handheld chicken and waffles from Chick'NCone, plus barbecue, tacos, cupcakes, loaded fries, pizza, grub from chain entrants Wahlburgers and Cold Stone Creamery, and a beer-wine-and-spirits garden. It's pay as you go - cash - and rain or shine.

Noon-8 p.m. Saturday, noon-6 p.m. Sunday, Brighton Park, 1801 Boardwalk (next to the Claridge), Atlantic City. $1, acfoodtruckfest.com.

Sea Isle Beer Festival

OK, so it's not Philly Beer Week - but then again, Philly Beer Week's not at the beach. Now in year five, organizer Denis Brown's little beer bash has grown big, into 60 all-you'd-like-to-sample craft brands of ales, and cider, including contributions from locals at Tuckahoe Brewing, Pinelands, Cape May, Slack Tide, and more. Also on tap, as it were: the Animal House (party) Band, a jumbo outdoor game area, craft vendors, food trucks, and jitney service at the fest's end. Note: The event starts a half-hour earlier than last year.

2 p.m. (doors at 1 p.m.) Saturday, outside Kix McNulty's, 6400 Landis Ave., Sea Isle City. $42.95 ($10 designated driver), seaislecitybeer.com.

Le Tour de Downbeach

Riders wear bright-yellow T-shirts and helmets (mandatory) for this family-friendly, 14-mile bike ride around Absecon Island, starting along the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Early arrivals to registration are rewarded with happy faces painted on their own faces and temporary happy-face tattoos. Peeling off from the pack is allowed. Hanging out at the post-ride cookout at Tomatoe's in Margate is highly recommended.

10 a.m. Sunday (9:30 a.m. registration), Newport Avenue and the Boardwalk, Ventnor, $20, margatehasmore.com.
