Adele song means karaoke is really depressing in the UK

Karaoke is typically marked by people with three or four too many drinks in them belting out a classic rock song and mangling the chorus by slurring their speech. In the UK, though, karaoke took a dark turn in 2012 thanks to the popularity of Adele's "Someone Like You". According to the Lucky Voice website—a karaoke destination on the web that also has a chain of karaoke bars across the UK—Adele's depressing ode to a former lover was their most popular song in 2012. Apparently seven percent of karaoke singers offered their own rendition of the Adele single. Which means that karaoke night was probably the most depressing night out at the pubs every week. Take it away, Emma Stone. [Gigwise]
