FCC is with Alec Baldwin, urges FAA to allow more in-flight electronics

The FCC wants you to be allowed to fly on an airplane and use your electronic devices at the same time. Chairman of the FCC, Julius Genachowski, penned a letter to the Federal Aviation Administration urging that the FAA take another look at its policy on portable electronic use. The FAA recently gave pilots clearance to use iPads instead of paper, but hasn't fully reviewed its policy on electronics since '06. So, hopefully, some day soon you'll be able to board an airplane without running your headphones up your sleeve and leaning on your hand so the flight attendants don't know that you're listening to the new Ke$ha album during takeoff.
