A Drake concert at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia was abruptly postponed on Saturday night, nearly an hour after the show was scheduled to begin.
Concertgoers who were admitted into the arena were later notified that the Canadian rapper, born Aubrey Drake Graham, would not be performing. Fans began to vent their frustration via Twitter shortly before 8:30 p.m. The performance was slated to begin at 7 p.m.
Wells Fargo Center spokeswoman Rebecca Goodman released the following statement:
"Due to the elaborate nature of tonight's show and an unexpected mechanical issue, Drake's 'Would You Like A Tour' concert at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia has been postponed until Wednesday, December 18."
According to the statement, all tickets and original parking receipts from tonight's show will be honored at the new concert date.
The Philadelphia show was to be the second stop on Drake's tour, which kicked off Friday night at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. The tour is scheduled to resume in Montreal on Monday, October 21.
