Hall for Hall & Oates

Philly-bred Temple University-educated pop-R&B duo Hall & Oates will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the org said Tuesday. The duo is one of six acts that will be honored at a ceremony April 10 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

As expected, first-ballot inductees Nirvana lead the way for 2014, the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death.

Like Hall & Oates, all the other inductees have broken through after being eligible for many years. They are makeup-wearing hard-rock cartoon characters Kiss; English art-rocker Peter Gabriel (who's already in as a member of Genesis); 1970s Laurel Canyon country-rock singer Linda Ronstadt; and '70s singer-songwriter Cat Stevens.

The E Street Band will receive an award for musical excellence, and two British Invasion band managers, the late Brian Epstein for the Beatles and the Rolling Stones' Andrew Loog Oldham (currently a DJ on Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius XM), will be inducted as nonperformers. - Dan DeLuca

Tidbits 'n' pieces

We trembled with anticipation for two years and now it's finally here: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Tuesday unveiled its new Oscar logo. It's the Oscar dude in the middle of a triangle. . . . Good Morning America on Tuesday unveiled the music vid for Katy Perry and John Mayer's grammatically challenged duet "Who You Love." It has the disturbingly cuddly duo ride a mechanical bull in the middle of the desert. . . . Josh Gad will cowrite and star in a film version of Gilligan's Island, Deadline.com reports. . . . X Factor host Kelly Rowland will show off her 4-plus-carat engagement ring (from Tim Witherspoon) Wednesday on The Queen Latifah Show.

See more Bieber!

MTV News on Wednesday at 9 p.m. will livestream at the red-carpet premiere of the greatest music film ever, Justin Bieber's Believe. Star Justin Bieber and a few pals, including Usher and Sean Combs, will strut their stuff on plush rouge fiber.

Yo, Blondie back!

Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, and Clem Burke will bring their most awesome '70s post-disco, new-wave act Blondie to Times Square for a set at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2014. The band played the late Dick Clark's holiday special in '79.

Khloé + Matt + Steve!?

Khloé Kardashian, hours after filing divorce papers from failed hub Lamar Odom, was seen hangin' with gorgeous Dodger Matt Kemp. "Just friends," she insisted.

Comic Steve Martin got on Twitter and started saying that he and Khloé are just friends, too!

Wait . . . Khloé, 29, and Steve, 68, are dating?

"Despite rumors, Khloé Kardashian and I are just friends," Steve tweeted. "Be sure to check out my new album, Just Friends with Khloé Kardashian."

He refers to his wife, Anne Stringfield, in the next tweet: "Now trying to downplay the Khloé/Stevé thing with [my] trusting wife . . . Khloé just called asking what printer to buy. Further proof that we are 'just friends'."

Next: "Uh oh. Trusting wife online buying replacement cartridges for the same printer I recommended to Khloé."
