Ardmore composer-songwriter Benj Pasek is just an "E" away from clinching one of the most coveted Hollywood achievements — becoming an EGOT. If Pasek and his writing partner, Justin Paul, snag that "E" this fall, the two will become the youngest and fastest talents to score the prestigious honor.

EGOT stands for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards, a grand slam achievement that so far only a dozen people have accomplished.

On Sunday night, Pasek and Paul won  the best musical theater album Grammy  for Dear Evan Hansen, a hit musical that Pasek, an '03 Friends Central grad, wrote based on a fellow student.

The award follows closely behind the collaborators’ 2017 Oscar for best original song for “City of Stars” from La La Land and their 2017 Tony for best original score written for the theater for Dear Evan Hansen.

In the last 12 months, Justin Paul (left) and Ardmore's Benj Pasek have taken home Oscar, Tony, and Grammy Awards.Pasek, 32, and Paul, 33, have a handful of years to win an Emmy and still claim the title of youngest EGOTs. Robert Lopez — the songwriter behind The Book of Mormon and Frozen — currently holds the spot for youngest winner,  at 38. But the duo could achieve EGOT status this year if their TV adaption of A Christmas Story makes it to the Emmy nominee table. Already nominated for a Tony, the live musical includes an original song — "Count on Christmas" — written by Pasek and Paul and aired at the end of last year on Fox.

The 70th annual Emmy Awards are scheduled to be given out Sept. 17; nominations will be announced in July.
