Truck Stop: HubBub Coffee
HubBub Coffee
Where: 38th and Spruce, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.
What you're in for: Simple coffee drinks, from drip to espresso, with beans by Stumptown and other local roasters. Also on the menu, coffee-friendly pastries like croissants.
You gotta get: The No. 7, a frothy, seven-ounce drink with a perfect balance of milk and espresso. It will run you $2.75.
Caffeine rush: The truck's most popular times are in the mornings from opening to about 10:30 a.m. There's a post-lunchtime bump in customers, as well. Reach out: hubbubcoffee.com, @hubbubcoffee and on Facebook.
History lesson: "We respect the history of coffee houses, from the Ottoman Empire on, as places where people can gather to exchange ideas," said founder Drew Crockett, 29, a University of Pennsylvania grad who grew up in Rosemont.
Permanent place: Crockett said that HubBub Coffee will get a brick and mortar store on Arch Street between 17th and 18th in early 2013. The immobile shop will allow for a wider food selection.
