* March 12 is Alfred Hitchcock Day, and respect must be paid. Manayunk's Old Eagle Tavern (177 Markle St., 215-483-5535, oldeagletavern.com) steps up with a movie night featuring "The Birds" and "Psycho," starting at 7 p.m. Get $1 off Finch's Cut Throat Pale Ale and Weyerbacher Insanity during the movies. Chef Morgan Malachi will prepare Psycho Bird Bites and Insanity Wings.

* "Three Time's the Charm" is the theme as Southern Cross Kitchen (8 E. First St., Conshohocken, 484-344-5668, southerncrosskitchen.com) offers three courses for $30 Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights in March (third month of the year - get it?!).

* It might as well be spring; the CSA announcements are starting to sprout in our mailbox. Neighborhood Foods CSA is a partnership between the Urban Tree Connection and West Philly residents, but it's open to anyone who wants weekly shares ($600, about $27 a week) or half shares ($325) of vegetables and fruit from West Philadelphia gardens and farms in the greater Philadelphia area.
