Review: If you like the taste and texture of KFC Original Recipe coating on your chicken, the taste of the new boneless items will be familiar. That doesn't mean better. While the dark-meat version was moist enough, we found the white meat to be dry. And both meats lacked a certain flavor compared to KFC's bone-in chicken offerings, which are greasier but tastier. As for the coating, the sodium was so apparent, we wondered if we'd bitten into a salt lick.
The introductory meal comes with a biscuit, which was terrific, and a side order. We chose the gravy-topped mashed potatoes, which were almost thin enough to sip through a wide straw.
Summary: If losing the bones means losing moistness and flavor, what's the point? We'll pass - but could you please pass us another biscuit?
